Privacy Policy

ST Remote does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no account system, no backend server, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. Everything the app does happens locally, directly between your iPhone and your Bose SoundTouch speakers on your own Wi‑Fi network.

Data we collect

None. ST Remote does not collect, log, or transmit any personal data to Stefan Oberwalder or to any third party. There is no sign‑up, no login, no user profile, and no tracking of any kind.

Local network access

iOS will ask you to grant ST Remote Local Network access. This permission is used only to discover your Bose SoundTouch speakers on your Wi‑Fi network and to send playback and control commands to them directly — play a station, adjust volume, group speakers, and so on. This traffic stays entirely on your home network. It never reaches Stefan Oberwalder or any server, because ST Remote doesn't have one.

Station search

The station catalog is bundled inside the app itself (station data from the open Radio-Browser directory). Searching for a station is a local, on-device lookup — your search terms are never sent anywhere. Station logos are loaded from the stations' own servers when a list is shown, so those servers can see your IP address, as with any web image.

HTTPS relay

A small number of stations stream only over HTTPS, which SoundTouch hardware cannot play directly. For those, ST Remote runs a small relay entirely on your own iPhone to convert the stream so your speaker can play it. This relay only ever handles the one stream you chose to play, runs locally on your device, and does not send that data to Stefan Oberwalder or any third party.

Third‑party services and diagnostics

ST Remote does not include any analytics, crash‑reporting, or advertising SDK. If you have opted in to "Share With App Developers" in iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymized crash and usage diagnostics with Stefan Oberwalder for the sole purpose of improving app stability. That sharing is controlled entirely by your iOS device settings — ST Remote itself does not request, read, or otherwise access this data.

Your choices

You can review or withdraw Local Network access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. Without it, ST Remote can't discover or control your speakers, but no other part of the app is affected.

Children's privacy

ST Remote is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children — because it does not collect data from anyone at all.
